Main reasearch interests

I am a quantum field theorist, interested in strongly coupled physics at low and high energy. My main activity so far has revolved around the effects of boundaries and defects in quantum and conformal field theories. Defects show up in a wide range of physical phenomena, from the effect of heavy charged particles in gauge theories to the interface of strongly and weakly gravitational regions in spacetime. More generally, I am interested in exploiting symmetry and consistency conditions to obtain non-perturbative information about quantum field theories. This perspective, known as the bootstrap, can be applied to defects, as well as to correlation functions, S-matrix elements and other observables in flat and curved spacetime.
