Twist operators and other conformal defects
Marco Meineri (Perimeter Institute)

Note: unusual room!
Abstract: The computation of the Renyi entropies in a QFT can be performed in principle using the so-called replica trick. In turn, the replica trick can be described as the insertion of a co-dimension two twist operator in the path-integral. I will focus on conformal field theories in the vacuum state, where the twist operator can be interpreted as a conformal defect, with the usual set of CFT data attached to it. Deformations of the defect are captured by the insertion of a local operator, and the shape dependence of Renyi and entanglement entropy in even dimensions has the structure of a defect anomaly. This opens the possibility of applying the bootstrap program to the study of entanglement in CFT. Along the way, I will review some general features of conformal defects.

Diego Bombardelli (UNLMDE!>YkXX? natural ingredients is the so called "warp factor", a deformation of the ten-dimensional metric that changes the perception of the energy scales by the four-dimensional observer. The presence of a warp factor modifies the low-energy effective theory, in particular the Kahhler potential, and can have important physical implications, but such modifications are usually neglected for technical simplicity. In this talk I discuss how to incorporate warping effects in the Kahler potential of F-theory/IIB flux compactifications. The strategy followed is based on the combination of four-dimensional local superconformal symmetry and holomorphy of brane instanton contributions. The resulting warped Kahler potential reproduces and generalises previous partial results.

Two joint seminem as a sum of one-loop contributions of all perturbative BPS states in a manifestly T-duality invariant fashion. In particular, I will discuss how the elliptic genus can be expressed as a linear combination of certain absolutely convergent Poincarè series, against which the fundamental domain can be unfolded. The general result is given as a BPS-state sum, neatly exhibiting the singularities of the amplitude at points of gauge symmetry enhancement.
